Words Are Powerful – They Can Make or Break You

words are powerful - Words can Make or Break You

Words are powerful. They are instrumental in the expression of our thoughts and feelings. Words of love, hatred, anger, happiness or jealousy leave a deep impact on our life.

Small words like Om and Mom have a much deeper impact than imagined. The moment child utters ‘Mom’, a mother’s world changes forever, a stream of happiness flows in her heart and life.

Om, the powerful word, carries with it the strength of the entire universe. Sit quietly with your eyes closed and start chanting Om. Peaceful vibrations start pervading in the body and charge the environment with positive energy.

Positive words improve life, where negative words ruin. Therefore, it is very important to be careful while conversing because words convey a lot.

Words are powerful, they reflect your thoughts

Success in your career, your relationship, a friendship or any stream in life is significantly dependent upon the usage of words. Furthermore words are a reflection of the thoughts developed in our mind.

Words supported by thought shape our destiny. As well said:

Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words,
Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions,
Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits,
Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character,
Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny.

The takeaway: your thoughts become your destiny.

Words have the power to heal

Words are empowered to heal, as words control thoughts, use them to create a deep impact. While words can facilitate healing, they also hamper them. Use them intelligently.

Mrs. Wilson was suffering from a rare eye disease. Her doctors declared it to be incurable and that she will soon be blind. Her friend suggested consulting a crystal therapist who asked her to share her life experiences.

After ten minutes the therapist suddenly stopped her and said, “Mrs. Wilson, have you noticed, in ten minutes, you have repeated fifteen times ‘I can’t see’.”

She used to say “l hate to see” before so many things, like ‘I hate to see the way the world is going.’ This was truly an eye opener for her. He suggested she switch those words and instead say ‘I can see’. Now years later she has perfect vision. This is the healing impact of words.

Words have deep impact on our life. Dr. Masaru Emoto has proven it scientifically. He proved that the actual structure of a water molecule is changed in the presence of different words and phrases.

If words really do affect water than we are not only emotionally affected by words but physically as well, as a major part of our body is made up of water.

Kind words have the power to change life

Yes, the kind words can change your life. I have experienced it in my life.

My mother-in-law always blessed me from the core of her heart. She used to say, “May God bless you with all the worldly things and luxuries in abundance. You will see one day it will come true.”

Today although she is no longer alive, her kind words truly blessed me. Whenever God gives me the comforts of life, I feel as if she is all around me.

Never use negative words, they tear apart

Negative words are the result of hatred, anger, jealousy—in a nut shell, negative emotions. Their use affects us as well as the people around us. Every word we say somewhere creates an impact.

Choose words with care, wisdom and love. Let your bitter words not be the cause of rendering pain to you and others.

While cooking one day my mother got her hand burnt. I asked if I could help her in her daily chores. Since I was a child, she said no. Out of helplessness I said, “Let your other hand also burn, then only you will allow me to help.” Though uttered unintentionally those words pained her a lot.

I immediately realized my mistake and apologized but even now (nearly fifty years have passed) these words still pierce my heart. The words said in anger leave a bitter taste. Words once spoken cannot be reversed no matter how unintentional they were.

Conclusion

Different words have different impacts, like:

  • Words of encouragement, unleash a winner
  • Words of motivation, strengthens a fighter
  • Words of love, magnifies a life
