How to Enjoy your Life?

Enjoy your Life

We cannot dictate our circumstances, but surely we can decide on what attitude to face our circumstances with. Nobody has a perfect life- it is the construction we put on somebody’s life and possessions which makes it enviable. So, enjoy your life. Life happens, be a part of it.

Happiness, like anything else in life, needs to be nurtured. You can make your life happier. It is a matter of choice. It is your attitude that makes you feel happy or unhappy.

Every day that we are gifted is a new day and an opportunity to live life to the full. We can choose to be happy, and we can do a lot to add happiness to our lives. Enjoy your life  for true happiness is easy to achieve if you have the happy things that matter in your life. If you crave for happiness outside, let me tell you that it comes from within.

Simple ways to enjoy your life:

1. Laugh

A day in which you have not laughed is a day of your life wasted. ~ Charles Chaplin (Tweet this)

Laughter is the best medicine to whatever ills that plague us. Laugh and the world laughs with you—cry and you cry alone. Laugh at yourself the hardest. It helps you face whatever surprises life may throw at you. A good belly laugh releases endorphins which are natural mood-lifters.

Never miss an opportunity to laugh. Watch a comedy or read hilarious books, but take care never to laugh at others.

2. Keep Company with Positive Thinkers

Surround yourself with positive influences and positive thoughts. Give no room in your mind for negativity to fester. Surround yourself with positive thinkers, for they will be your cheer squad if life brings you down.

Positive thinkers may stumble and fall in life; they are certainly not going to stay down. They get up, brush themselves and start walking again. Negative thinkers are best avoided as they look for the downside of every situation and are likely to pull you down into despondency.

3. Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude

Gratitude for what gifts have been given to you by the Universe is enlightening. Instead of bemoaning what you do not have, celebrate what you do have—be it the love of friends and family, good health or an opportunity to help others.

Express gratitude for the gifts you have been given. It attracts even more gifts from the Universe. This process leads to an instant and miraculous shift in your perception as to how fortunate you really are.

4. Start Talking to People

Most of us are shy and unable to talk to people we don’t know. Just make a start and say “hi” when you first meet. After a few attempts it will become natural and comfortable.

People will feel comfortable with you as you initiated the conversation and may even open up to you. You are sure to find some interesting people and even make some long-time friends. It just takes the willingness to make the first move.

For example you can start with a casual comment on the environment around you. For example if you are watching a game or concert, make a nice remark about it at the appropriate moments.

5. Enjoy your Life and Live your Passion

We work to earn a living. Not all of us are lucky to work the jobs we like. While working to earn a living is necessary, it is absolutely necessary to take time out for your passion in life. It essentially means stopping to smell the roses and take time out to do the things we enjoy doing. Take personal time out to go for a walk, reconnect with friends or simply give time to your loved ones.

Cook a new recipe, listen to unfamiliar music, try Origami (the Japanese paper art) and so on. You have hundreds of pages on the internet teaching you such interesting craft. Nurture a hobby.

6. Appreciate Beauty and Enjoy the Journey

Many of us fail to realize that there is an abundance of beauty around us. Soft rays of the morning sun, chirping of birds, the many sights and sounds . . . what an exhilarating way to start a day!

Devote a moment to think a bit about what is making them so beautiful and you cannot help feeling how enjoyable life is, after all. You can even try to write a poem or a blog and over time you will feel good about what you have created.

Conclusion

You can enjoy life only if you derive happiness from every little thing. Live in the present moment and cherish the happiness that life offers you. If you do not do so, you will not have anything to remember and smile about once you are old. Is that what you really want, a life that’s not worth remembering?

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.

Life is a journey and it is up to us to enjoy each step of the way. Nothing in life is perfect. All we need to do is make up our minds to do the best with what is given to us!
