Everything You Need To Know About A 3 Day Cleanse – Part 1
I’ve been water fasting for the last 24 years—well, not 24 years straight! But I can go 7 days without food and do quite well. So a 3 day cleanse, for me, isn’t a challenge. This is something that I know. Now, before we go too deep into all of this, there are some things you should know.
First, the warning
For one, I am not a doctor. For another, nothing you read on the internet can ever replace speaking to someone qualified about your own personal story. Even reading things online from an actual doctor does not compare to having your own bloodwork done and your own cardiovascular system specifically checked out. Do that before you end up in jeopardy.
Having said that, I am a Nutritional Therapist and an Advanced Sports and Exercise Nutritional Advisor. In addition to my certifications, I also have experience in this area because (as I mentioned) I have also done this for years—not only for myself but also for friends and clients. The volume of books alone I have read on the subject areas of diet, nutrition, and exercise (because I am also a trainer/instructor) is significant. Still: doctor’s orders. Don’t undergo a 3 day cleanse unless you are certain of what you are doing. Now on to the details.
3 day cleanse, up close and personal
The best way to begin your 3 day cleanse is to understand the rules of the road.
For starters:
- This is a water fast.
- This is not a juice fast.
- Nor is this Intermittent Fasting.
- It is also not Caloric Restriction/Reduction.
Those are all different things and each one has their place. This is also not at all dangerous when done properly. It’s actually quite natural and truly common all over the world. People fast for religious reasons, for example, Ramadan; and in traditional Chinese martial arts (which is where I learned about it). People of different cultures also fast on a regular basis as well. It truly is done worldwide.
Even in the highly-developed West, medical doctors are now starting to come around to the idea as well. Dr. Joel Fuhrman, for one, comes to mind. I just finished reading his book (Fasting and Eating for Health: A Medical Doctor’s Program for Conquering Disease) and I have to say, it was actually really surprising (even to someone who has done this before). Wait until you see what he says (in the next paragraph).
Does fasting work?
I already knew a 3 day cleanse had some health benefits, but I certainly did not know about all of them! The book was very enlightening. For example, I did not know that fasting, in general, could even cure heart disease! Can you imagine?! Here is just a partial list for what a 3 day cleanse (and even a few longer fasts) can cure:
- headaches,
- hypoglycemia,
- rheumatoid arthritis,
- asthma,
- heart disease,
- high blood pressure,
- diabetes,
- colitis,
- psoriasis,
- lupus, and
- uterine fibroids.
Not all those things get cured after only just doing a 3 day cleanse. As I mentioned, some take 7, others take 12, or even 20. Regardless of the time, however, these things all get reversed or even cured from fasting—and all of them without medication. File that one away as “food for thought.”
Here is a great example: according to his book after only 7 days of a water fast, ulcerative colitis just completely . . . goes away. Why? Because when you’re not eating, your body is doing one of two things: it’s either digesting food . . . or it’s healing you. So here is a question, which one would YOU prefer it be doing?
If it doesn’t have to handle all that food all the time, for example, it can finally empty your body of toxins. With a long enough fast (longer than a 3 day cleanse) it can literally clear plaque from your arteries. Imagine that. In fact, read that sentence again: a long enough fast will literally clear plaque from your arteries! This is a medical doctor who has studied this one topic for literally years and years.
Not only can you save money on all the food you are not buying, you also don’t have to undergo expensive—and possibly dangerous—surgery, nor do you have to buy medicine. And here is the funny thing about medicine. It is literally poison. All medicines are. And don’t take my word for it. Harvard Medical School says the same thing. All drugs—all medicine—is toxic. It is poison.
Food, on the other hand, is not poison. Less food (or even no food, in the case of a 3 day cleanse) is what can help us and can even heal us. Your food (when used properly) can save you.
So now that we understand what a 3 day cleanse is, and how it can help you . . . let’s learn how we can do it ourselves in the next article. PS, It’s easier than you think.
