Learn from a Child to Love Life More and Live Life Better

Learn from a Child

Human beings are the most beautiful creation of god. Learn from a child.

A child can teach an adult three things: to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something, and to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires. ~ Paulo Coelho (Tweet this)

We are all born as very happy, peaceful, joyful, pure beings but as we grow up we tend to lose our originality and integrity. Hatred, jealousy, anger, and greed are some of the emotions that become a part of us.

But if we want to go back to our original being we must watch a child or be surrounded by children and try to learn and imbibe their qualities and become what we originally were. We must realize that our childhood is our best gift and we must take care of it, and learn from it for the rest of our lives.

Children are the twinkling stars of every eye. They are like tiny flowers that are loved by all. A child’s beauty can be seen in his eyes and smile.  But apart from these three things Paulo Coelho has said, there are many other things that an adult can learn from a child.

Learn From a Child How To Love Unconditionally

Learn to give without expecting anything in return, for that is what real and unconditional love is all about. Have you ever tried to analyze the emotion of a two-month-old child? When you smile in front of a child he will reciprocate by smiling back at you but, interestingly, if you try to cry they will not respond to it.

So then, the next thing we can learn from a child is that to smile or to laugh is the birthright of every human being. It is just that we tend to forget this as we grow. We become, in fact, very miserly in using it. Hafiz, a 14th-century Persian mystic and poet, once said, “Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that. It lights up the whole sky.”

Learn From a Child How To Be Carefree

Don’t all of us want to be fearless, doubtless and free from regrets? Then look at the way a child lives. We have to let go of all the things that no longer serve us. Only then we will be able to return to our original self and innocence. A child fears nothing. An adult draws the line between what is harmful for the child and what is not.

But a child does not understand fear. As we grow up, we start fearing the unknown, we fear being judged, we fear rejection, the future etc. But one of the most important lessons we can learn from a child is being fearless in the face of all these illusions.

Learn From a Child How Not to Worry About Tomorrow

Children are always living in the present moment. They see the natural beauty wherever they are and enjoy themselves to the fullest without worrying.

But no matter what your past looks like and no matter how scary the future may seem, if you choose to stop worrying and really focus on what is, you will realize that your worries were in vain.

While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about. ~  Angela Schwindt (Tweet this)

We often tend to run after things that appear to be imparting us happiness not knowing that what should we do in order to attract the same to us. We can learn to do just that by observing a small and innocent child in action, helping you master this important lesson.
