How to be Content with Life

content with life, contentment

Life is a journey. But are you content with life? I am sure the majority would answer “No.” Let’s explore what the phenomena of life is and learn how to be content with life.

The Phenomena of Life

Life is magnificent trip. We are not supposed to spoil its beauty with a negative thought process. Your thought processes control your intellect, your mind, your physique and in turn your health.

You are what you think. Life is good, feel it.

You can create magic with your life. You are the master of what happens. If you are afraid of something you are attracting more and more fear toward you.

The more you are free of fear, the more you pave way for help from surroundings and within. Yes, from within. Do not let your fears grow. You have the ability to cut your agony down to size and eliminate it.

Do not Rewind Time

Do not carry the baggage of the past. When you let things go, you create space for new things to come in. For instance, when you clean out your closet, you get space for newer, better, and more-colorful things.

So is this the case with your life. The more you ponder over your past, the less you find time and energy to think of and find ways to fulfill your dreams about your future. There is no point in trying to rewind time, trying to change (or repent for) all that went wrong.

Let things go, let time fly. Learn to forgive. Forgiving does not make you weak. It only empowers you to move on with life. At the end it is you, who is benefited. The point is in learning from what has gone by and not letting the horror of the past overpower your present and spoil your future.

There is nothing more important than your life in this world. As you have not created your life you have no right to spoil it. Your life is solely governed by your mind, your mind by your thoughts, and your thoughts by your feelings.

Feelings are solely the subject matter of how you perceive things in and around you. It is all about whether you see the glass half full or half empty! We all know this but now the time is to realize and resolve which way we are to think for progress and uplift.

As they say, “You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.” Only you can bring about a change. Only you can make it happen. Nobody else will do it for you. One can show you the way but you need to walk there yourself.

How to be Content with life?

Let me throw some light on the importance of contentment (being content with life) or gratification. Satisfaction is the core thing that leads to pleasure.

You crave something and when the desire is fulfilled, you feel happy. But suppose in some unavoidable circumstance your hopes do not materialize. Your aspiration does not take shape. What then? Is it wise to get dull and murky?

Or is it wiser to shun the past, let things go that did not turn out your way and make a promise yourself not to shed a tear on what went wrong and start paving the way for newer heights that are yet to be achieved.

When traumatized (emotionally or physically) you need not curse or say, “why me?” If you do so, you are questioning the very integrity of Nature. Because you reap that you sow, your life today is what you thought and did in the past. It is simple arithmetic. So, the way you think today controls your future.

Here, I am not being inconsiderate about your plight. I know very well that I have no right to judge you because I have not been in your shoes. I just want to say that people do mock, make fun, get sarcastic but anything in this world should not deter you.

“We think an appraisal
For us is considerable
On not getting what we want
We tend to turn dismal
But think of those
In darkness who arose
Who don’t have a clue
Why fate bid adieu?”

Look around you. Look at those below you. If you are not happy with your new pair of shoes, think of the person who does not have a pair of legs.

Your life is full of colors. Nothing in this entire world is more scintillating than your own life. Though, it has both bright and grey shades, together they make a beautiful rainbow. Had there been a single color missing, the rainbow would have been incomplete.

So, the crux is that we need to stay happy in what we have. Whatever circumstance surrounds you, face it boldly, do not panic and be content with life.
